Brooke Christa Shields Bio

Brooke Christa Shields (born May 31, 1965) is a famous American actress and model. At age 12, she was a child model. She was praised by critics for her performance in Louis Malle's 1978 film Pretty Baby (1978). She continued modeling through her teens and appeared in various dramas of the 1980s including The Blue Lagoon (1980) and Franco Zeffirelli’s Endless Love (1981). In 1983, Shields left her modeling career to study at Princeton University where she received the degree of bachelor's in Romance Languages. In the 90s, Shields returned to acting and appeared in minor role in films. She was also a mainstay in the NBC sitcoms Suddenly Susan (1996-192000), in which she was awarded two Golden Globe nominations and Lipstick Jungle (2008)-2009. In 2017 Shields returned to NBC with a major recurring part in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, which is currently in its 19th season. Since 2014, Shields has voiced Beverly Goodman in the Adult Swim animated series Mr. Pickles and its spinoff Momma Named Me Sheriff. Brooke Christa Shields is a New Yorker born on May 31st 1965 in Manhattan. She is the daughter of businessman Frank Shields (1941-1903). According to research conducted by William Addams Reinwiesner, Shields is related to several noble families from Italy and particularly Genoa as well as Rome. These are namely (in chronological order of descent from 1355 to 1965) the Gattilusi-Palaiologos-Savoy, Grimaldi, Imperiali, Carafa, Doria, Doria-Pamphili-Landi, Chigi-Albani, and Torlonia dynasties. Marina Torlonia di Civitella Cisi di Civitella was her paternal grandmother. She was the daughter of an American socialite as well as an Italian prince. Her great-uncle Alessandro Torlonia, an Italian nobleman was the husband of Infanta Beatriz in Spain. Teri was paid an amount by the family of Frank to terminate the pregnancy.
