Evan Rachel Wood

Evan Rachel Wood was born in Raleigh, North Carolina, on September 7, 1987. Her father, Ira David Wood III is a theatre actor, writer and director, and her mother, Sara Wood, is an actress and acting coach. Her older brothers include Dana Wood, a musician and Ira David Wood IV who have also been actors. Evan and her brothers performed in the Theatre In The Park, Raleigh in the same place where her father serves as the executive director. At the age of five, she was auditioning for the role in Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles (1994). With her parents and brother Ira moving to Los Angeles in 1996. Since since then, she's had success in television series films on TV and feature films. She's appeared in Practical Magic (1998) as well as in the comedic S1m0ne (2002) as Al Pacino's daughter, and was then in Thirteen (2003) in which she starred alongside Holly Hunter. Her breakout role in the film as Tracy in "Thirteen" earned her an award. Golden Globes nomination for Best Performance by an actress in a Motion Picture: Drama and for an Screen Actors Guild Award nomination for Outstanding Performance by an Actress Female in the Leading Role. She was the first actress nominated for a Leading Role award at the time. For her performance in Veda Pierce in in the HBO miniseries Mildred Pierce (2011) earned her an Emmy and Golden Globe nominations. The same award was given to her performance as Stephanie (Mickey Rourke's ex-wife) in Darren Aronofsky's The Wrestler (2008). She is the daughter of Ira David Wood III and Sara Wood. Ira David Wood III's younger sister. She is a trained dancer. She is a fan of singing, swimming or rollerblade and also go on horseback rides. She holds the black belt in tae the kwon-do. Is still in touch with a majority of her Once and Again (1999) castmates: Mischa Barton, Julia Whelan as well as Shane West.
