Bruce Willis

The actor and musician Bruce Willis is well known for playing wisecracking or hard-edged characters, often in spectacular action films. Together, they've been featured in films grossing more than $2.5 billion USD. Walter Bruce Willis was born on March 19, 1955, in Idar-Oberstein (West Germany) to Marlene Kassel and David Andrew Willis (from Carneys Point New Jersey), both of whom resided at the United States military base. The family relocated to the U.S. shortly after he was born. He was raised in Penns Grove, New Jersey where his mother worked as a bank clerk, and his father was a welder and factory worker. Willis developed an interest for drama in high school. He was "discovered" while working in a cafe located in New York City and then appeared in a couple of off-Broadway productions. One night, Willis was bartending and was noticed by a casting manager who liked his style of work. He was in need of bartenders for one small part in a movie. Willis was involved in countless auditions before landing the role in the romantic comedy of the same name, Moonlighting (1985), as David Addison. The sarcastic and wisecracking P.I. is the highlight of his career. Some view it as an exercise in preparation to prepare for Willis his role in Die Hard (1988), in which he fought the gang of thieves who were stealing from the Los Angeles skyscraper. In Die Hard 2 (1990), he reprised the character. The group of rebellious Special Forces soldiers is trying to return a corrupt South American general. They are located in Washington's Dulles International Airport. The film's impressive box-office results led to an sequel to Die Hard with avengeance (1995). This time, Samuel L. Jackson starred as a shrewd Harlem shop owner, who was unaware of his role and was forced to help McClane in the aftermath of a terrorist attack on a hot New York City day.
