Lil Tecca

Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe was born August 26 in 2002. He is also known as Lil Tecca. He gained mainstream recognition after the release of his 2019 hit single "Ransom" which peaked at number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song was part of his debut mixtape "We Love You Tecca" (2019) which peaked at the 4th spot on the US Billboard 200. The mixtape also included the two singles "Love Me" and "Did It Again". The album he released as his debut studio album called Virgo (2020), debuted at the top of the Billboard 200. It also included the Billboard Hot 100 chart-topping singles "Dolly" & "When You Down". His second mixtape, We Love You Tecca 2, was released in August 2021 and included "Repeat It" and "Lot of Me". Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe was born on August 26, 2002, in the Queens area of New York City to Jamaican immigrants. He was born in Queens in Springfield Gardens. However, Sharpe moved later to Cedarhurst in Long Island. Since his early years, Sharpe had aspirations of being a part of the NBA However, around 12 years old Sharpe turned his attention to pursuing a career in music. He attended Lawrence High School. Tecca was nine years old at the age, was rapping alongside his classmates using his Xbox to record. They would create diss tracks directed towards each other and one was posted to SoundCloud several years ago, but has since been taken down. In his first years when he was a kid, he did not have any plans to make music a living and instead envisioned becoming an NBA star. He started taking music more seriously after he dropped his interest in basketball during middle school. The first single he released, "Tectri", which was a hit in spring of 2017 was produced in collaboration and released by Lil Gummybear. He also released "Callin" in the same year, which was one of his first tracks. Tecca's career took off a year later, with the smash single "Ransom" released and uploaded to Cole Bennett's Lyrical Lemonade YouTube channel on May 22nd, 2019. It peaked at number 4 in the Billboard Hot 100 charts and was played over 900,000,000 times on Spotify and more than 300 million times on YouTube.
